Robert Veilleux, a current TREND Transformations franchise owner, describes his day as purposeful and interesting. “Business plans and focuses are consistently changing, so you always have something new to work toward. Challenges are what drive me and allow me to enjoy what I do.” Here’s a behind-the-scenes look at what a typical day for Robert entails.

Getting a head start

Robert likes to wake up around 4:30 a.m. and arrive at the office shortly after 5:00 a.m. Getting a bright and early start to his day is something Robert enjoys.

Looking over the finances to make sure everything adds up and is accounted for is one of the first tasks Robert checks off of his to-do list. He typically checks his email while enjoying a cup of joe before checking in with his team of fabricators and template designers to make sure they are prepared and motivated for the day’s agenda.

At around 9 a.m. Robert will chat with his bookkeeper and sales manager to make sure they feel confident and prepared. Ensuring all team members are aligned and have the information and tools they need to do their job is a major part of Robert’s role as a TREND Transformations franchise owner.

as the day goes on, Robert will:

  • Help with the planning and logistics of marketing the business, making sure advertisements were in place for the upcoming month.
  • Make sure everything is taken care of for upcoming sales and installation projects – from paperwork to materials to scheduling.
  • Place orders when necessary – there is one order day per week and everything needs to be ordered 3-4 weeks in advance.

Sometimes, Robert will go out to the installation sites to oversee the job and make sure everything is going smoothly. Every now and again, he will get his hands dirty and take care of an installation job himself – prior to becoming a TREND Transformations franchise owner Robert used to own a home building company. The ability to choose how involved you want to be in certain aspects of the business is one of the many perks that come with being your own boss.

a positive end to the day

The afternoon is used to catch up, get ahead or deal with any issues that may arise. Robert is an expert problem solver. He instructs installers when they call with questions regarding a particular job. He ensures customers stay happy and makes sure his employees have their concerns addressed, needs met and feel appreciated at all times. Everyone at TREND Transformations is treated like family.

Before the end of the day, Robert waits for the paperwork and payments from the installers to be completed. He usually leaves the office between 5 – 6 p.m. feeling satisfied with all that’s been accomplished and anticipating what tomorrow has in store.
